April 2014

News! The second Rehearsal Room Presents will be on Wednesday May 21st at The Pleasance, Islington.  Line up includes a Q&A with special guest John Yorke, ex Controller of BBC Drama, current MD of Company Pictures and author of best-selling screen-writing book, Into The Woods. Live music will come from hotly-tipped electronic duo Moonrags.  The two play readings will include Commercial Broke, a comedy by Yasmeen about three actors waiting to be auditioned for a beer commercial – will diversity and advertising make for a good cocktail?  The second reading featured will be Porcelain Dolls, by Yasmin Whittaker-Khan (no relation, but a tad confusing…), writer of critically acclaimed play, Bells. Porcelain Dolls is a taut drama set in Pakistan’s eunuch community.

The Rehearsal Room Presents puts the audience at the heart of the evening – each reading will be followed by a short Q&A where you get to give your feedback and also discuss the issues raised in each piece; a theatrical question time over drinks and nibbles. Tickets are £8 (£6 concs.) and are on sale now! Book here: https://www.pleasance.co.uk/event/rehearsal-room-presents
